Suzlon Poised to lead the Aatmanirbhar mission in wind energy says Tusli Tanti

16th July 2020: Speaking at the Inaugural session of the Digital Conference & Exhibition “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” — Opportunities in Renewable Energy Manufacturing held on 16th July 2020 Tulsi Tanti, Chairman and Managing Director of. Suzlon Group retorted the leadership of India in the wind energy space and how the sector is equipped to be the global hub of manufacturing.

He Said In the last 30 years India has laid the foundation and now we have more than 10,000 megawatts, manufacturing capacity in the country, almost 90% supply chain is local.

The ecosystem is huge with more than 4000 SME that contributes to a complete supply chain, but the opportunity ahead is huge and there is 35 GW more of the target needs to be met.

This has attracted lots of new manufacturers across the world and potentially creating 2 million long term jobs in the country.

Mr. Tanti also added that he sees the opportunity for India, to be the manufacturing hub for the world and cater to the huge export demand for 72 countries and which will in the future grow to 200 countries.

Suzlon has been at the forefront of the wind energy revolution and as a pioneer has more than 6 MW capacity and strong equipment and service knowledge with more than 15 GW of assets under management.

The ambitious goal of the prime minister of 350 GW gives a secure captive market and with the proactive policy change happening under the leadership of the Hon Power minister Raj Kumar Singh prepares the industry to take on the huge domestic as well as the international market.

Mr. Tanti mentioned that solar had a dependency on china, but wind energy is ready to go full-on and realize the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Suzlon has recently concluded a debt restructuring and with a healthy order book of 850 MW which is backed with power purchase agreements and is bullish on the sector adding more capacity as the new auctions will be completed soon.
